The Assistants Premieres Tonight

The N’s new original comedy The Assistants premieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET, with two back-to-back episodes airing from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (ET). The series takes a comedic look at four showbiz assistants working for a big-shot producer as they strive to make it in the chaotic, sometimes cruel, but always zany world of Hollywood.

In the premiere episode, “The Car”, airing at 8:30 p.m., it’s Gillian Young’s first day as an assistant to Zach Del Toro, a high-profile, high-pressure producer in Hollywood. Gillian’s first task is to sell one of Zach’s old cars by the end of the day. While she struggles to find an effective selling tactic, the other assistants continue scrapping their way to the top–from impersonating a young director (Rigby) to spending hours trying to skillfully “pen” a new outgoing message for Zach’s cell phone (Nate). Gillian has to use every skill she has to impress her new boss in order to keep her job (and prove she is Hollywood-worthy).

The second premiere episode, “The Star”, at 9:00 p.m., features Rigby passing on what seems to be a totally exciting assignment, ‘assistant in charge’ for a press junket with one of the biggest young stars in Hollywood (played by Glee’s Cory Monteith). When her office rival Gillian is left with this responsibility, Gillian finds that her movie star crush, who’s paying her a lot of attention, is not the person she thought he was. Meanwhile, Rigby is trying to pitch her own screenplay to the head honcho of the studio and Nate discovers the secret to Danny’s success around the office.

So be sure to watch The Assistants airing from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (ET) on The N.
