On the morning of April 1st, WWE held a press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe
in Times Square. Being that New York is where WrestleMania began, this
was the perfect place to discuss the most popular event in sports
entertainment. The press conference featured WWE Superstars and Divas
with match-ups this Sunday.
Kicking off the conference was WWE Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie
McMahon. She spoke about great matches throughout the 30 years of
WrestleMania and how WrestleMania will be held in front of a capacity
crowd as well as being available on Pay-Per-View and on the WWE Network.
McMahon closed sharing stories expressing the impact WWE programs like
the anti-bullying program Be a STAR and The WrestleMania Reading
Challenge has had on the youth.

Up next was WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. He spoke on
being a part of the first WrestleMania here in New York and about
unforgettable WrestleMania moments like when he slammed Andre the Giant.
Hogan closed with the infamous ”Whatcha Gonna Do” preparing everyone
for Hulkamania.
Triple H takes the stage next as Paul “Triple H” Levesque. He
discusses wearing multiple hats in the WWE as a WWE Superstar and as
Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative. Levesque
states that no matter how many hats he wears, he is a fan first and
foremost. He then talks about how NXT is where new dreams are formed and
mentions some of the talent from NXT that’s living their dream being a
part of WrestleMania. He closed as ”Triple H” speaking on how himself
and Daniel Bryan shares the same dream but “only The Game is forever.”

Daniel Bryan follows Triple H also talking about dreams. Bryan states
that his dream has always been to headline WrestleMania, and now he has
that chance to main event if he can beat Triple H. Bryan says he’s not
here because of The Authority but that he’s here because of the people.
He stresses how the fans in New Orleans will have so much more power
than anyone in the back. Bryan closes saying that at WrestleMania they
can make his dream come true together and exited the stage doing he’s
YES Movement YES chants.
Batista opened by stating he wasn’t going to read from a script and
said the person who wrote it should be fired unless it was written by
Stephanie. He proved that to be true by doing a one-man skit where he
pretended to be fans and mocked himself with “Boo-tista” and “Skinny
Jeans” references. Batista then stated how he wanted to do some things
outside WWE, but his heart is always with WWE. Batista closed speaking
on how it sucked the match is now a Triple Threat, but that this is the
last time people will see him as a non-WWE Champion.
Randy Orton came out with both title belts over his shoulders. Orton
spoke briefly about how he will be retaining his title this Sunday. You
can tell by the fact that he’s holding two of the biggest prizes in the
WWE, that he’s in an actions speak louder than words mindset.

John Cena takes the stage next to tell a story about being with Hulk
Hogan this morning when man went up to Hogan and told him he was at
WrestleMania 3 when Hogan body-slammed Andre The Giant. Cena expresses
how enthusiastic the fan was years later, and said that’s what
WrestleMania is all about: just being able to say, “I was there.” Cena
then closes in the style of Hogan by saying, “Where are you gonna be,
Brother, when you say: I was there?”
The press conference then ends with a photo op. of everyone who spoke as well as some Superstars and Divas who were backstage.
Some of this Sunday’s anticipated matches are John Cena vs. Bray
Wyatt, Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan, Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar and The
Triple Threat WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match featuring Randy
Orton, Batista and the winner of Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan.
