Event Review: Yo Gabba Gabba brings the party to New York City

DJ Lance Rock and the Yo Gabba Gabba Gang, Muno (the red cyclops), Foofa (the pink flower bubble), Brobee (a little hairy green monster), Toodee (the blue cat-dragon) and Plex (the magic yellow robot) were in the house and ready to P-A-R-T-Y! And this party had everything that a party needs and more.

From singing and dancing to songs like “Party in My Tummy,” “Get the Sillies Out,” and “I Like to Dance,” you would find it hard to stay in your seat.

To enhance that party feel there were surprises. What would a party be without a few surprises? To decorate hundreds of balloons were dropped, bubbles and two confetti cannon blasts.

In true Yo Gabba Gabba fashion there were special guests at the party. The 2:00 show featured special guests such as the alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr, one of the pioneers of hip hop culture and founding members of the legendary hip hop group Run-D.M.C, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels and the always rapping and beatboxing Biz Markie.

Yo Gabba Gabba! “There’s A Party In My City” was a get out of your seat good time. Though geared towards 2-6 year olds, through insanely catchy tunes and special guests, the show ends up having something for everyone. So if Yo Gabba Gabba ever has a party again I hope to get an invite!
