In 1975, a teenage boy suffering from leukemia asked his father to raise a million dollars for the lifesaving research that made it possible for him to reach his nineteenth birthday – two years beyond his original prognosis.
The boy, T.J. Martell, died later that year, but his legacy still lives on thanks to the foundation started by his father, music industry executive Tony Martell. To date, the T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research has raised more than $225 million dollars.
The TJ Martell Foundation have teamed up with Universal Music to help raise money in the form of an auction to offer some amazing music memorabilia!
