Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, “The Lost and Damned” features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of “Grand Theft Auto IV”; new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles; and a diverse soundtrack with additional music – all with the incredible production values that are the trademarks of “Grand Theft Auto”. You can’t help but like Boys Like Girls!

Boys Like Girls is a Boston-based rock-pop quartet. The group formed in the final months of 2005, when singer/guitarist Martin Johnson wrote a lot of songs that he wanted to record. He recruited bassist Bryan Donahue and drummer John Keefe. John Keefe brought in lead guitarist Paul DeGiovanni. They began posting on various music sites. They posted a demo of “The Great Escape” and a acoustic version of “Thunder”. With the help of Purevolume, MySpace, and Absolutepunk, Boys Like Girls landed themselves a record deal with Columbia Records/Red Ink.

Boys Like Girls rose to success with their self titled album release in 2006. That album featured such hits as “The Great Escape”, “Hero/Heroine” and “Thunder”. The album sold more than 600,000 copies in the United States alone. Now Columbia Records has released the bands first DVD, Read Between the Lines.

Read Between the Lines is a 100 plus minute DVD. It features 45 minutes of concert performances. The 10 songs were recorded live during the Soundtrack to Your Summer Tour. It also showcases candid band footage and interviews shot throughout the tour. The DVD traces the band’s career from the early days of eating Ramon Noodles and sleeping on the floor, to headlining their hometown arena just a few short years later.

Boys Like Girls gave Massachusetts an amazing show. The crowd was amped and so was the band. With every shout of “Come on Massachusetts”, the crowd would do just that. The crowd would be singing along and they would increase the “Boys Like Girls” chants. Martin’s vocals were strong. Bryan, John and Paul’s instruments were on point. The setlist was great. They performed the singles “The Great Escape”, “Hero/Heroine” and “Thunder”. The rest of the setlist included “Five Minutes to Midnight”, “ On Top of the World”, “Learning to Fall”, “Dance Hall Drug”, “Broken Man”, “Heel Over Head” and “Holiday”. Switchfoot Launches “This Is Home” Video Contest

Switchfoot is asking fans to create a music video for the track “This is Home”. This song was featured on the 2008 movie soundtrack for “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”. One fan has already created a touching video about the troops reuniting with their families. Now Switchfoot want to see what “This Is Home” means to you! Swichfoot will choose three top videos. They will win signed “This Is Home” lyrics plus autographed copies of The Best Yet CD.

Thank you for all the great comments so far on the new video for “This is Home”. When we wrote the song, we had always hoped that it would touch people in some way, and it seems that it has. One such person created their own version of the video and uploaded it to our YouTube group.

It really touched us, so much so that we hope it might inspire some of you to do the same. We want to see what “This Is Home” means to you. With the Holiday’s coming up, it seems very appropriate. Nick’s superstar duo Drake Bell and Josh Peck are back and in a 2 hour Christmas movie!

Drake and Josh, who are working as Santa’s helpers in a mall, makes a promise to an unfortunate little girl that her foster parents and siblings will have “the best Christmas ever”— and then try to fulfill that promise. But plans quickly get changed when Drake’s antics at a holiday party puts responsible Josh in the slammer.

When Drake tries to break Josh out, they both end up in court in front of Judge Newman (Henry Winkler). Judge Newman rules that if little Mary Alice (Bailee Madison) and her family don’t have “the best Christmas ever”, it’s back behind bars for Drake and Josh. Drake & Josh now have their work cut out for them and is forced to get help from an unlikely source, their little sister Megan (Miranda Cosgrove). Will Drake & Josh be able to deliver “the best Christmas ever”?

Merry Christmas Drake and Josh was a good watch. I have always been a fan of Drake & Josh and it was cool to see them in the holiday spirit. Aside from the usual antics, you get two Christmas songs performed by Drake Bell. The renditions of “Jingle Bells” and “The 12 Days of Christmas” rocked. This is a fun holiday movie and I recommend watching it.

So be sure to tune in tonight at 8pm et/pt on Nickelodeon for the premiere of Merry Christmas Drake & Josh!

Jack Black is set to host the 2008’s “VGA’s”!

The film will not only give viewers a look into what it is truly like to walk in the shoes of one of today’s biggest musical icons, but also give you behind-the-scenes access to everything from Britney recording her new album to preparing for her appearance on the “2008 MTV Video Music Awards,” and much more. “Britney: For The Record” will air exclusively on MTV on Sunday, November 30th at 10pm ET/PT.

Book Review: Burn by Suzanne Phillips

Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire but just remember someone always gets BURNED!

Cameron Grady is a 14 year old in the 9th grade who’s high school experience is not off to a great start. Cameron is getting terrorized by his fellow classmates, jocks Patterson and Murphy in particular. The bullying gets worse and Cameron has had enough. Will he survive or will the bullying drive him to take action?

Burn is an interesting read. It gives you a great understanding of Cameron, from his school life to his home life. You also see how school is affecting his life at home. Like for example, his relationship with his younger brother. Cameron wants to be seen as a stronger older brother but soon finds out that his younger brother is fully aware of the bullying that takes place at school. Cameron gets upset and becomes distant from his brother.

The problem that I had with the story was the way Cameron used fire. I felt it was a bit much but on the other hand shows that bullying can truly change a person.

I must say that going into this book I expected different events to occur. I actually felt mislead based on the summary on the back of the book, but to avoid giving anything away I will leave it at that.

All and all, Burn did keep me hooked to the end and the fact that what I thought was going to happen didn’t happen offered an unpredictable plot twist. Burn proves how serious bullying is and how the effects from it can stay with you way past your high school years.

Bolt unleashes the super dog within!

Bolt is a Walt Disney Pictures 3D Production. Directed by Chris Williams and Byron Howard and produced by Clark Spencer and John Lasseter. Both Howard and Lasseter are no strangers to Disney movies. Byron Howard was the animator for Lilo and Stitch and Brother Bear. While John Lasseter has directed Cars and Toy Story 1 and 2. He also was the executive producer of Monster Inc, Finding Nemo, Incredibles and many others. So with such a powerhouse team behind it, Bolt is ready to take on the competition.

Bolt (John Travolta) is a super dog. His day is full of danger, excitement and adventure. He has amazing super powers like heat vision, super speed and even a super bark. Sadly Bolt doesn’t know that he is only a super dog on a TV show. So when Bolt is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood lot to New York City the real adventure begins. Bolt must find his way through a cross country journey to get to owner and co-star Penny (Miley Cyrus). Along the way he gains two unlikely companions. One being an abandoned housecat named Mittens(Susie Essman) and the other a TV obsessed hamster named Rhino(Mark Walton). Through this journey, Bolt learns that he doesn’t need super powers to be a hero.

Bolt grabs your attention from the very beginning with an action packed 10 minute chase scene. There are motorcycles, low flying helicopters, explosions and slow motion leaps. Children will be rooting for Bolt every step of the way.

The movie also offers up some big laughs. There is the sarcastic Mittens, quirky birds scattered through the film and the down right hilarious Rhino. You will have a ball laughing at this cast of characters. The casting for this movie is perfect. John Travolta is totally convincing as Bolt and teen sensation Miley Cyrus is great for Penny’s heartfelt moments.

Bolt is a really good movie for all ages. Though parents may be surprised at all the action and taken back by the dramatic fire scene, the movie still delivers some family fun. Children will be drawn to how cute the characters are and thanks to the amazing 3D effects, they will feel they are along for the adventure. So if you looking for an action/comedy for the whole family, Bolt is just the movie to see.
